With thanks to editor Hilary Menos, I have another piece on The Friday Poem today: a review, available here, of Sarah Mnatzaganian’s marvellous Lemonade in the Armenian Quarter, published by the estimable Against the Grain Poetry Press. As ever, though, there’s plenty of other, excellent stuff on there.
Thanks for this, Paul. Reminded me I keep putting off buying Sarah’s book, and it’s time to stop procrastinating. Maybe the cyclists’ N+1 rule applies to poetry books.
If I may pick a nit (pick it! pick it!), in the first paragraph of the review you’ve translated the book to ‘the American Quarter’.
Definitely worth buying, Rod – a birthday present to yourself? (Belated happy returns, by the way.) Yes, the gremlins got in.
